Melissa van Kannel

As Vice President, Operations, Ms. Van Kannel heads up the operations group, which includes the management of Claims, Quality Compliance, Benefits, Eligibility, and Pricing departments, plus our back office operations.
She is also responsible for overseeing and directing all system and client implementations.
Her experience and dedication to process improvement, claims administration, quality control, cost-saving initiatives, project management, and to identify system enhancements to further streamline operational efficiency is invaluable to the Operations department and MHCM.
This will continue to allow MHCM to exceed industry standards and deliver outstanding customer service and satisfaction to our clients.
Ms. Van Kannel joined Meridian Health Care Management (MHCM) in 1993 and has 15 years of professional experience with health plans, provider organizations and integrated delivery systems.
Her background includes network expansion and development, payor and provider contracting, utilization and continuous quality improvement activities, and assisting in software development and enhancements.
Ms. Van Kannel holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communication with a minor in Environmental Health from California State University, Northridge.
