In 1992, Mr. Given joined Kidder Peabody and Co. in Carmel, California where he worked as and Investment Executive.
In 1994, Mr. Given founded Given Investment Management in Carmel, California, an independent investment advisory firm.
In November, 2003 he co-founded Given & Dini Investment Management in Carmel California with Bruce Dini.
At the end of 2006, Mr. Given changed the name of his firm to Given Capital Management, LLC.
In 2019, Mr. Given merged his firm with Cypress Path Capital, LLC.
Given Capital Management, LLC was the surviving entity and changed its name to Cypress Path Capital, LLC.
Prior to his career in the investment business, Mr. Given worked in the computer software industry for eight years.
In 1980 he founded Given Systems, Inc., an investment management software company which he sold in 1983 to Monchik-Weber, Inc. (a publicly owned software and consulting company).
He received his undergraduate degree from UC Davis School of Law and an MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles.
