Gunnar Lang

Dr. Gunnar Lang is senior researcher and deputy head of the International Finance and Financial Management at Zentrum für Europäische Wirtschaftsforschung GmbH.
His research focuses on financial market regulation, corporate strategy, corporate finance, and real estate markets.
He is involved in research projects funded by third parties such as the European Commission, federal ministries and companies.
He is furthermore in charge of the Financial Market Survey China.
Dr. Lang not only presents his studies at national and international, high-level conferences but also in front of lay audiences.
Prior to his employment at ZEW, he worked for a major German bank in the Investment Banking division where he was employed in the advisory on and distribution of capital market products for multinational corporates.
Besides, he gained further working experience in the following departments: Corporate Finance, Bond Origination, Venture Capital as well as in Retail and Corporate Banking.
He was awarded a doctoral degree from Stuttgart University in mid-2012, was a visiting researcher at Harvard Business School, Boston (US), in 2009 and 2010 and at the United States Housing and Urban Development Department in Washington, D.C., in 2010.
He studied economics at the University of Heidelberg, graduating with a Master in Economics in June 2006.
The focus of his studies was mainly finance, banking and capital markets.
He completed his B.A.
(Hons.) in Banking and Finance (University of Cooperative Education Karlsruhe).
