Before going to D.
E.
Shaw, Mr. Filler was an associate in the Investment Management and Derivative Products Group of Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft.
At CWT, Mr. Filler represented hedge funds, CPOs, CTAs, investment banks, exchanges, and derivatives dealers.
Mr. Filler has served on the faculty of numerous conferences on a wide variety of matters relating to hedge funds and to derivatives agreements, and is a member of numerous industry and bar association committees, including: the Global Documentation Steering Committee (sponsored by the New York Fed); the Hedge Fund Advisory Council of the Managed Funds Association; the 203 Roundtable; the American Bar Association's Committee on the Regulation of Futures and Derivative Instruments and its Subcommittees on Managed Futures and Alternative Investments and on Hybrids and Derivatives; the New York State Bar Association's Committee on Futures and Derivatives Law; and the Committee on Private Investment Funds of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.
Mr. Filler received a B.S.
with highest honors from Cornell University, a Doctor of Law degree from Cornell Law School, and served as a law clerk for Federal District Court Judge Thomas McAvoy.
