Samba Financial Group (UK) (SFG-UK) is the London branch office of Samba Financial Group. The financial group was established in Saudi Arabia in 1980 as the Saudi AMerican BAnk to take over the Riyadh and Jeddah branches of Citibank, as foreign banks were required to sell majority interests to Saudi Nationals. Citibank remained a minority shareholder until 2004. SFG-UK originated as a representative office in 1984 and became a fully licensed bank in 1987. The firm provides financial services to corporate clients and high-net worth individuals. Their clients include Saudi nationals in the UK as well as corporations based in Europe, Pakistan and GCC-Gulf Cooperation Council states. Their corporate clients include exporting and contracting companies. The firm is one of the longest-established Saudi banking presences in London. Their capabilities include corporate and investment banking, private banking, priority banking, trade finance and treasury. SFG-UK's Guernsey-based fellow subsidiary Samba Fund Management Ltd. specializes in mutual funds.
