Alexander Rietz

Mr. Alexander Rietz joined Siemens Venture Capital in July 2005.
His responsibilities at Siemens Venture Capital include pre-screening and evaluating deal flow, the due diligence of investment opportunities, and supporting the investment partners in all topics related to the portfolio management.
Mr. Rietz covers investments in the following spaces: Energy, Environment, and Industry.
Currently he serves as a board member of Setrix AG.
Before joining Siemens Venture Capital, Mr. Rietz was employed as a Junior Investment Manager at HBD Venture Capital in Cape Town .
During his tenure at Mark Shuttleworth's Venture Capital vehicle, he was involved in the review and evaluation of incoming business proposals and participated in several due diligences of South African early-stage ventures.
Prior to that Mr. Rietz worked at Umbono Capital Partners in Johannesburg .
While there he was mainly involved in strategy-related projects for the South African electricity monopolist Eskom.
Mr. Rietz graduated with an MBA (Dipl.-Kfm.) from Frankfurt University , Germany .
