Presently, Shigeru Hayakawa occupies the position of Vice Chairman & Chief Sustainability Officer at Toyota Motor Corp.

He is also on the board of The Maureen & Mike Mansfield Foundation, Peter G. Peterson Institute for International Economics and Kokusai Keizai Kenkyusho and Vice President at Keidanren.

In the past he held the position of President of Toyota Motor North America, Inc.

He received an undergraduate degree from the University of Tokyo.
