She is also on the board of Prysmian SpA.

She previously occupied the position of Chief Executive Officer of Ilti Luce Srl, President of Luceplan SRL, Senior VP & General Manager-Lighting at Philips SpA and Marketing Manager at Apollo Computer, Inc.

Ms. Mariani received an undergraduate degree from Sapienza University of Rome.
