Hawker is a exploration and production company, cast aside its drug candidates to explore the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin for natural gas and oil. Hawker Resources acquired fellow explorers Southward Energy and ZORIN Exploration in 2003 and 2004, respectively. In 2005 it also acquired Iteration Energy, an oil and gas company, and is divesting its Lavoy area assets. After the divestiture, the company will have proved reserves of about 3.8 million barrels of oil equivalent and proved plus probable reserves of 5.7 million barrels of oil equivalent.
