Fastned verwerft 10 nieuwe locaties direct langs de snelweg in België

Amsterdam, 6 juli 2021. Fastned, het Europese snellaadbedrijf, heeft 10 nieuwe locaties verworven direct aan de op- en afritten van belangrijke Vlaamse snelwegen. Aan deze toekenning van locaties door de Vlaams minister voor Mobiliteit, Lydia Peeters, is ook een BENEFIC subsidie gekoppeld van 0,6 miljoen euro. Op de locaties is Fastned voornemens om snellaadstations realiseren waar honderden elektrische voertuigen per dag kunnen opladen met een laadsnelheid tot 300 kW.

Het Europees project BENEFIC heeft in februari van dit jaar een derde projectoproep gelanceerd voor infrastructuur voor milieuvriendelijke voer- en vaartuigen. Overheden en privébedrijven konden in aanmerking komen voor subsidies voor de aanleg van laadinfrastructuur voor elektrische voertuigen. Voor deze projectoproep is een maximum subsidiebedrag van 1,77 miljoen euro beschikbaar gesteld. Tot 20% van de investeringskosten worden gesubsidieerd. De locaties moeten langs het TEN-T kernnetwerk in Vlaanderen en/of het Brussels Hoofdstedelijk Gewest liggen of in de onmiddellijke omgeving ervan.

De Vlaams minister voor Mobiliteit en Openbare Werken, Lydia Peeters, heeft de ambitie om tegen 2025 35.000 extra laadpalen te realiseren in Vlaanderen. Om de verdere ontwikkeling van laadinfrastructuur langs de Vlaamse snelwegen te stimuleren heeft het Agentschap Wegen en Verkeer verschillende locaties in haar eigendom beschikbaar gesteld voor de projectoproep van BENEFIC.

Lydia Peeters, Vlaams minister van Mobiliteit: "Deze derde BENEFIC-oproeppast perfect binnen de modal shift naar duurzaam vervoer. De projectsubsidie is uniek door zijn laagdrempelige aanpak waarbij met Europese middelen projectoproepen voor publieke en private partijen worden georganiseerd. Ik ben ervan overtuigd dat de uitbouw

van laadinfrastructuur een cruciale dominosteen is in het vergroenen van het wagenpark. In Vlaanderen liggen de ambities voor elektrisch rijden hoog. Tegen 2025 wil ik, naast de 35.000 publiek toegankelijke laadpunten, minstens om de 25km snelladers langs de grote verkeersassen. Door het voorzien van laadinfrastructuur geven we zekerheid aan gebruikers van elektrische voertuigen. Dit zal een belangrijke stimulans zijn voor particulieren en bedrijven om om te schakelen naar zero-emissievoertuigen."

De missie van Fastned is om de transitie naar duurzame mobiliteit te versnellen door vrijheid te geven aan elektrische rijders. Dit doet Fastned door het bouwen van een Europees netwerk van snellaadstations waar elektrische auto's supersnel kunnen laden. Fastned is momenteel bezig met de realisatie van snellaadstations op locaties die zij via de eerste

BENEFIC projectoproep van AWV heeft verkregen. De eerste twee stations van deze 13 snelweglocaties, die eind 2019 door AWV vergund werden, worden deze week officieel geopend door Vlaams minister voor Mobiliteit en Openbare Werken, Lydia Peeters.

BENEFIC staat voor 'BrussEls NEtherlands Flanders Implementation of Clean power for transport'. Het hoofddoel is om de realisatie van infrastructuur voor milieuvriendelijke voer- en vaartuigen te versnellen, gebruik makende van Europese subsidies. Fastned acquires 10 new locations just off Belgian highways

Amsterdam, 6 July 2021. Fastned, the European fast charging company, has acquired 10 new locations directly at entry- and exit-ramps along important Flemish highways. In conjunction with the allocation of locations by the Flemish Minister of Mobility, Lydia Peeters, a 0.6 million euro subsidy for these locations is granted by BENEFIC. Fastned intends to realise fast charging stations at the locations where hundreds of electric vehicles can charge per day at a charging speed of up to 300 kW.

In February of this year, the European project BENEFIC launched a third project call for infrastructure for environmentally friendly vehicles and vessels. Governments and companies could qualify for subsidies to support the construction of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. A maximum subsidy amount of 1.77 million euro has been made available for this project call, in which up to 20% of the investment costs are subsidised. The locations must be located along the TEN-T core network in Flanders and/or the Brussels- Capital Region or in its immediate vicinity.

The Flemish Minister for Mobility and Public Works, Lydia Peeters, has the ambition to realise 35,000 extra charging stations in Flanders by 2025. In order to stimulate the further development of charging infrastructure along the Flemish highways, the AWV has made several locations available for the BENEFIC project calls.

Lydia Peeters, Flemish Minister of Mobility: "This third BENEFIC call fits perfectly within the modal shift to sustainable transport. The project subsidy is unique because of its low- threshold approach, in which project calls for public and private parties are organized with European funds. I am convinced that the development of charging infrastructure is a crucial domino in greening the vehicle fleet. In Flanders, the ambitions for electric driving are high. By 2025, in addition to the 35,000 publicly accessible charging points, I want fast chargers along the major traffic axes at least every 25 km. By providing charging infrastructure, we provide security to users of electric vehicles. This will be an important incentive for individuals and businesses to switch to zero-emission vehicles."

Fastned's mission is to accelerate the transition to sustainable mobility by giving freedom to electric drivers. Fastned does this by building a European network of fast charging stations where electric cars can charge super fast. Fastned is currently working on the realisation of fast charging stations at locations that it has obtained through the first BENEFIC project call from AWV. The first two stations of these 13 highway locations, which were awarded to Fastned by AWV at the end of 2019, will be officially opened this week by the Flemish Minister for Mobility and Public Works, Lydia Peeters.
