Acomo appoints Victoria Vandeputte from Belgium as new Non- Executive Director

ROTTERDAM (NL) 05 AUGUST 2021

Acomo (Amsterdam Commodities N.V.), the Euronext Amsterdam-listed natural food ingredients company specialising in spices and nuts, edible seeds, tea, food ingredients and organic ingredients, will appoint Victoria Vandeputte (50, photo) as Non- Executive Director.

The appointment fits the planned expansion of the Acomo Board, which has been speeded up since the size of the group has significantly grown following the acquisition of Tradin Organic at the end of 2020.

Belgian-born Victoria Vandeputte has a long track record of management positions in the food industry; she is familiar with the supply chains and is accustomed to doing business globally. She speaks four languages fluently (NL, EN, DE, FR - ed.). In her current position as Chief Innovation & Marketing Officer of Martin Braun Frozen Division, she is also a member of the Executive Management team of Diversi Foods NV as well as an independent Board member of the Euronext Brussels-listed investment management company Ackermans & van Haaren (AvH). From 2007 to 2017 she occupied a variety of senior category and marketing management positions at CSM Bakery Solutions (formerly CSM Bakery Supplies - ed.), having responsibility for a broad range of products and ingredients. Before her time at CSM, she also worked at ICI and Daikin.

The shareholders will be asked to approve her appointment at an Extraordinary General Meeting on 15 September 2021. Approval of the appointment of Kathy L. Fortmann as new group CEO is also on the agenda.

"Especially with her wealth of experience in the food ingredients supply chain in the domain of business marketing, innovation and production. Her profile is ideally suited to the transition that we as a group are making from a strong focus on trading activities to an additional growing portfolio of natural food ingredients. Against that background, our subsidiaries are increasingly adding customer-specific value to the products we deal in. For instance in the field of food safety, such as special heat treatments to prevent cross-contamination in spices, dried herbs and vegetables, edible seeds, and pulses. Or in tea blending, the roasting and packaging of sunflower seeds and new food ingredient products based on sunflower seeds such as our products Sunbutter® and Suntein™.

The Acomo Board currently comprises the following members: Bernard Stuivinga (Non-Executive Chairman), Machtelt Groothuis (Non-Executive director), Yoav Gottesman (Non-Executive director), Jan Niessen (Non-Executive director) and Allard Goldschmeding (Executive Director).

Acomo (Amsterdam Commodities N.V.), het aan de Euronext Amsterdam genoteerde bedrijf in natuurlijke voedingsingrediënten zoals specerijen, noten, eetbare zaden, thee, voedingsingrediënten en biologische ingrediënten, draagt Victoria Vandeputte (50, foto) voor als nieuwe Non-Executive Director.

De voordracht past in de beoogde verbreding van de Board van Acomo die versneld is sinds de overname van Tradin Organic eind 2020, waardoor de groep aanzienlijk gegroeid is in omvang.

De geboren Belgische Victoria Vandeputte heeft een lange trackrecord van leidinggevende managementposities in de voedingsindustrie, zij kent de toeleveringsketens en is gewend wereldwijd zaken te doen; zij spreekt vier talen vloeiend (NL, EN, DE, FR - red.). Op dit moment is zij als Chief Innovation & Marketing Officer van Martin Braun Frozen Division ook lid van het Executive Management team van Diversi Foods NV en daarnaast onafhankelijk lid van het Bestuur van de aan Euronext Brussel genoteerde investeringsmaatschappij Ackermans & van Haaren (AvH). Van 2007-2017 bekleedde zij diverse senior Category en Marketing managementfuncties voor CSM Bakery Solutions (voorheen CSM Bakkery Supplies -red.) en had in die periode een breed palet producten en ingrediënten onder haar hoede. Voor haar tijd bij CSM werkte ze nog voor ICI en Daikin.

Op 15 september 2021 zal tijdens een Buitengewone Algemene vergadering van Aandeelhouders (BAvA) de aandeelhouders worden gevraagd in te stemmen met haar benoeming. Tevens staat dan de stemming geagendeerd over de benoeming van Kathy L. Fortmann als nieuwe groeps-CEO.

Bernard Stuivinga, voorzitter van de Board, zegt in een toelichting: "Victoria is een ware aanvulling op de samenstelling van de Board zoals we die nu kennen. In het bijzonder haar rijke ervaring in de voedingsingrediëntenketen op het gebied van business marketing, innovatie en productie. Haar profiel past uitstekend bij de transitie die we als groep doormaken met een sterke focus op handelsactiviteiten naar een onderneming met een groeiende portfolio van additionele natuurlijke voedingsingrediënten. Tegen die ontwikkeling voegen onze dochterbedrijven in toenemende mate klantspecifieke waarde toe aan de producten waarin we handelen. Bijvoorbeeld op het gebied van voedselveiligheid zoals speciale hittebehandelingen van specerijen, gedroogde kruiden en groenten, eetbare zaden en peulvruchten om kruiscontaminatie tegen te gaan. Of het 'blenden' van thee, het roosteren en verpakken van zonnebloemzaden en nieuwe voedingsingrediënten en (merk)producten op basis van zonnebloemzaden zoals Sunbutter® and Suntein™."
