AFC AJAX NV Ajax heeft overeenstemming bereikt met Lisandro Martínez over een vernieuwde verbintenis. De verdediger tekende een contract dat met terugwerkende kracht per 1 juli 2021 is ingegaan en loopt tot en met 30 juni 2025. Zijn oude contract bij de club liep nog tot en met 30 juni 2023.

Martínez werd op 18 januari 1998 geboren in Gualeguay, Argentinië. De verdediger kwam in 2019 over van het Argentijnse Defensa y Justicia.
Op 27 juli 2019 maakte hij zijn debuut in het eerste elftal tijdens de wedstrijd Ajax - PSV (2-0) om de Johan Cruijff Schaal. Martínez speelde tot nu toe 91 officiële wedstrijden in het eerste elftal van Ajax en maakte daarin vijf doelpunten.

Ajax heeft na twee duels in de UEFA Champions League nog altijd de volle buit. In een kolkende Johan Cruijff ArenA werd Besiktas dinsdagavond met 2-0 verslagen. De Ajacieden genoten zichtbaar van een uitverkocht huis en dat haalde zeker de eerste helft het beste in ze naar boven.
