HVIC is an active manager which invests across sectors in small and medium-sized companies with innovative technology but weak financial and management controls. They do not invest in lodging and restaurant, financial and insurance, real estate, dance hall, golf course and ski resort, casino, barber and beauty parlors, public baths or other non-manufacturing businesses under the order of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Energy. The firm seeks to invest in venture businesses operating for less than seven years as defined under the Act on Special Measures for the Promotion of Venture Businesses. They partner with their investee companies, providing a range of support including management control, technology consulting and financial assistance.
