Mashaal, M.D., Senior Managing Director, also a Founding Partner of HealthCor Partners, joined HealthCor Group in September 2005.
Prior to joining the private equity team in 2007, Dr. Mashaal was a Senior Research Analyst focused on biotechnology for the HealthCor Group from 2005 to 2007.
Previously, from 2000 to 2005, Dr. Mashaal served as a Research Analyst focused on healthcare and biotechnology for several large institutional investment firms.
Dr. Mashaal graduated from Emory University in 1994 with a B.A. in Biology.
After receiving an M.D.
at State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Medicine in 1998, Dr. Mashaal trained in general surgery at the University Hospital at Stony Brook from 1998 to 1999.
Dr. Mashaal currently serves on the board of directors of KellBenx and Orphion Therapeutics.
He also serves as a board observer of HeartFlow and Paige.AI.
Previously, Dr. Mashaal served on the board of directors of Corindus Vascular Robotics (acquired by Siemens Healthineers), Paradigm Spine (acquired by RTI Surgical), Apatech (acquired by Baxter), Velcera (acquired by Perrigo) and ReShape LifeSciences.
He also served as a board observer of Natera, in addition to service on other private company boards.
