John Lau

Prior to joining Jefferies, Mr. Lau was with Banc of America Securities covering the semiconductor devices sector with a focus on semiconductor companies serving the wireline, PC and wireless businesses.
In 2003, he was recognized as the No.
1 stock-picker covering the semiconductor sector in The Wall Street Journal's "Best on the Street" survey.
Before joining Banc of America Securities in August 2003, Mr. Lau was a managing Director and Research Analyst covering the semiconductor sector at RBC Capital Markets.
Prior to that, he was a Principal and Research Analyst covering semiconductors at Soundview Technology Group from 1998 to 2002.
Before entering the equity research arena, Mr. Lau worked for fifteen years in the semiconductor industry, holding engineering and design positions as well as sales and management positions with companies such as Standard Microsystems, Aeroflex Circuit Technology, Excalibur Systems, United Technologies and General Instruments Corp.
Mr. Lau holds an MBA from Adelphi University and a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Columbia University.
