In his past career he occupied the position of Executive Vice President-Research & Development at Sanofi and Chairman & Chief Executive Officer at Sanofi-Aventis Recherche et Développement SA (a subsidiary of Sanofi) and Executive Vice President-Product Development at HUYA Bioscience International LLC.

Marc Cluzel received a doctorate from the University of Montpellier and a doctorate from the University of Montpellier.
