Simanjuntak is the founder of the Indonesian Institute for Corporate Directorship, which was founded in 1999.
He served as the Chairman from 1999 to 2011.
Currently, Dr. Simanjuntak holds several positions.
He is the Chairman-Supervisory Board at Komite Pemantauan Pelaksanaan Otonomi Daerah.
He is also the President Commissioner at PT Indo Tambangraya Megah Tbk, President Commissioner at PT Indoritel Makmur Internasional Tbk, Head-CSIS Foundation and Chairman at Centre For Strategic & International Studies Jakarta, President Commissioner at PT Indomarco Prismatama, Independent Commissioner at PT Asuransi MSIG Indonesia, President & Professor at Prasetiya Mulya University, and a Member at Indonesia Economic Forum.
He is also a Professor at Universitas Prasetiya Mulya.
In the past, Dr. Simanjuntak held positions such as Chairman at Prasetiya Mulya Foundation from 2008 to 2016, Chairman at Indonesian National Committee For Pacific Economic Cooperation from 2012 to 2016, Director at Prasetiya Mulya Business School, Independent Commissioner at PT Lippo Bank from 2003 to 2005, and Auditor at Prasetio, Utomo & Co. and SGV Utomo Mulia & Co.Dr. Simanjuntak obtained a doctorate degree from Universität zu Köln in 1983 and an undergraduate degree from Universitas Katolik Parahyangan in 1973.
