Based in Riyadh, the Agency acts as the central government bank, issuing currency, supporting the value of the Saudi Riyal at home and abroad and supervising and encouraging the development of the Kingdom's banking system in both the public and the commercial sectors. As the Kingdom's investment authority, SAMA manages the country's foreign assets inside and outside of the Kingdom.
